What a Certificate of Analysis is
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is the document that records the testing results for a specific lot of material. It states what the compound is and how pure it is, backed by analytical data from an independent third-party laboratory. The COA is your reference for the exact material you received.
Every compound on our catalog is research grade, ≥99% purity, and supplied as lyophilized powder in vials for laboratory and in-vitro research use only.
Where the COA lives
Every lot is tested and documented before it is released. Each compound has its own COA page, reached through the View COA link on the product page and on every line of an order in your account. The page holds whatever is on file for that compound today:
- Published batch results. Where results are published for the current lot: identity, purity, and net content, matched to the lot number printed on the vial. Published lots are listed together in the batch analysis library, which opens once you are signed in.
- Supplier certificate. Where the supplier's certificate for the lot is on file, enter your email on the COA page and we email it to you immediately. It covers the same lot we ship and carries the supplier's name.
- TWO+DOS certificate. Our branded certificate for each current lot is in preparation and will appear on the COA page when it is issued.
What the COA documents
Each COA covers two questions: identity and purity.
- Identity. Confirmation that the material is the compound it is labeled as, verified by mass spectrometry.
- Purity. The measured purity of the material, verified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
The two methods work together. Mass spectrometry confirms the molecular identity of the compound. HPLC measures how pure the sample is. Together they document that the vial contains the stated compound at the stated purity.

How a COA ties to a lot number
Every COA is tied to a single lot number. The lot number on the document matches the lot number on the vial, so the results you read describe the exact material in your hands. Testing is performed per lot, which means a new production run is tested again and carries its own COA.
If you keep records for your research, the lot number is the key that links your inventory, the vial, and its testing data.
Finding the COA for a lot you received
- Certificates for any lot are available by email. Send the lot number printed on the vial to hello@twoplusdos.com and we reply with the documentation on file for it. No account is needed.
- Open the product page for the compound and use the View COA link, or sign in, open the order in your account, and use the View COA link on the order line.
- Check that the lot number on the COA page matches the lot number printed on your vial.
- If nothing is published for your lot yet, or the lot numbers do not match, send us a message from the Support page in your account (or email hello@twoplusdos.com) with your order number and lot number, and we will reply with the documentation on file for that lot.
Compliance
All materials are sold strictly for laboratory and in-vitro research use. They are not for human or animal consumption, not for diagnostic or therapeutic use, and have not been evaluated by the FDA. The COA documents identity and purity for research recordkeeping and traceability. It does not describe any use in humans or animals.
